A portion of tonight’s proceeds funds the Chicago Consular Corps’ (CCC) support of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). UIC uses the CCC funds to support international students who serve as dialogue educators in the newly developed Dialogue Peer Educator (DPE) Program. DPE international students are paired with domestic students to facilitate dialogue-based customized workshops for student organizations, classes and residence halls on topics such as social identities, intercultural communication, and listening for understanding.
In addition, CCC funds support the International Student Professional Development Grant program that enables international students to request research, conference and funding in order to advance their academic and professional goals.
